Beauty and Truth

Mankind lives in a world of fear and fighting, greed and corruption, but does it have to be this way?  Could man ever walk on this earth, content and even happy to share?  Who knows?  But it is good to dream and we all need hope.

We as a couple, with over 100 years between us of asking questions about all the important topics of life in general, and failing to find answers that made any sense, still have 'a dream', as a great man once said.

Our dream is of a world where children are able to play free from pain, with full tummy's and a smile as bright as the sun.  Where animals are not branded like a supermarket product, and they can roam in peace, without the dread of humans.  Where fear and terror are forgotten words because such feelings will never be known again. Where everything and all who are damaged are fixed........ no disease, no pollution, no rape, no murder, no war.

This dream caused us to take a serious look at our everyday choices and how we personally connect to the world around us.  It finally caused us to take a leap off the cliff of guestioning into the unknown, in the hope of being caught.  Caught by whom or what, you might say.  Oh no!  Another question.........

Where was I, ah yes.  Actually we were never caught, we just had to learn to fly, and fast!

Flying to us means eating like sparrows, leaving out the insects of course. After much research, we are convinced that we were never meant to eat animals, or any of the numerous dairy products we take from them while keeping them enslaved for our own selfish benefit.  We have long since taken the plunge to being fully fledged vegans.

What is a vegan.  Someone who cares more about animals, than they do about themselves.  Who spends hours searching for vegan cruelty free products and clothing in the hope of causing no harm to those who cannot defend themselves.  Veganism is a lifestyle - a celebration of life and all it's beauty and truth.  It's a great adventure with the whole of creation nodding in approval, seen in every creatures eyes you look into.

Foods That Kill

Dr Michael Klaper MD explains the effects and damage of an
animal and dairy diet on the body. Informative and entertaining.

War and Greed

History shows that when man wants something he will often do anything to get it.  War, rape and pillage.  These brutal acts have been used to control people for far to long.  While greedy governments take from the poor to feed the rich.  We need to grow food or hunt, and so we take over somebody else's land.  We need oil, and so we take over somebody's else's country.  We want to wear jewels, and so we enslave others to mine for us. We want to wear fur, and so we murder animals, and so on and so forth. We have enough nuclear warheads to reverse the big bang theory once and for all, we can put men on the moon, but we fail to feed our brothers and sisters who live in hunger and poverty.  Or set them a good example on how to manage the little they have.

The problems are so big and we in the west are often so selfish and so determined to have our rights upheld, that it is easier to allow ourselves to be manipulated by bigoted governments, than put our best foot forward and walk in truth and decency.

Actions that Kill

Mike Prysner speaks profoundly regarding his experience of war.
"War is not the solution, war is the problem"

Compassion and Hope

So what can we do?

We can make the connection - many already have.

We can wake up to the real facts of life! and see how we cannot possibly call ourselves civilized or compassionate if we continue to eat meat, disregarding the inhumane methods and suffering caused to animals.

We can also see how these horrific farming methods relate to the damage being caused in our environment.

And we can acknowledge the fact that if we changed our western diet that leads to ill health and obesity, we could feed the world.

This would mean all would be satisfied and there would be no need for wars, at least not over food and everybody would be healthier and happier.

The hope would be that in laying to rest this needless killing, we would become truly compassionate people who put others first and are finally able to love our neighbours as ourselves.

Yes, we know it sounds simplistic and idealistic.  But we earthlings are running out of choices.  So with all due respect, we ask you to consider all that has been said, check out the links, and hope that you too would embrace a non-violent plant based diet.  Help change the world today, there might not be a tomorrow!
