About Us

We currently live on the coast of Pembrokeshire, West Wales, UK. We are surrounded by sandy beaches and beautiful countryside, the Preseli Hills steeped in ancient history are a short drive away.  However, this striking peninsular, is not only a very popular holiday destination, is also heavily and traditionally reliant upon agriculture, specifically dairy, cattle and sheep farming.  This 'reality' is a constant reminder of the desperate need for eyes to be opened to what has for so long been the accepted norm.  For example, picture a beautiful summers morning filled with bird song and other country sounds.  The most dominant being the desperate, heart-rending cries of lambs just seperated from their mothers in the field across the road, who themselves are calling back, so, so, loud.  This has obviously been going on all night long and will carry on for days.  Or picture the horrific sound and sight of cattle having their horns cut off, while they struggle and fight against men and metal restraints and are then put back into their field still bleeding.  The next day their blood streaked bodies continue to attract already well fed flies.

We have seen and heard so many distressing sights in this lovely place.  Do we really have the right to cause such suffering to animals as we prapare them for our Sunday roast or BBQ, or our leather shoes or patent leather handbags?  It is also a well proven fact that the human body does not need the flesh or fluid of another sentient being, to survive and live a fullfilled and healthy life.  In addition there are many well established alternatives to leather and other animal products that prove such reliance completely unnecessary.

Realizing the truth, and deciding to stand up and say, 'stop, think, and make a change', we cannot be self-righteous about this but neither can we be apathetic or complacent. Thus, 'Vegan Dreaming', as every extra voice counts to those who have none.

Our vegan diet does take a lot of careful consideration, and these days we picnic more than eat out.  This however suits us pretty well as our hobbies are walking and canoeing.
